Title: Manufacturing Team Leader

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor

Shifts:Afternoon 3:15 p.m. - 2:15 a.m., Monday to Thursday

Wage Range:$21.94/hr - $23.42/hr

Based at: Wolf Steel Ltd. #24, Barrie Ontario

Job Purpose:
The key functions of this role are to focus and motivate a group enabling them to achieve their pre-determined goals and expectations all while being a hands-on interactive leader. Organize daily workload to ensure daily production targets are maintained, in a safe, efficient, profitable manner to produce top quality products

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
•Lead and facilitate discussions within team and cross functional groups to motivate and maintain a positive work environment
•Verify that the machine, forklift and quality check sheets are being filled out properly, as well as ensuring the proper work instruction and engineering inspection acceptance criteria are on the lines
•Monitor daily outputs while assisting Managers and Supervisors with temporary and permanent action plans. This includes making sure you have parts to run for the day, and parts are available for the next day
•Maintain line accountability boards with daily production
•Report to Supervisor on areas of safety, quality and production concerns
•Provide training to associates as required included the practical component of dialectic training to maintain training matrix
•Ensure compliance of all Company policies and procedures, ISO and all Government legislation including the Human Rights Code, OHSA and ESA
•Review, respond and manage all e-mails in a timely fashion
•Track employee attendance within HRIS and contribute to performance reviews.
•Help develop and implement improvement plans for Safety (JHSC Inspection Report) quality and productivity (recommend labour needs), including principles of 5S, and provide initial reports to the Supervisor
•Promote and maintain 5S methodology, as well as doing daily audits
•Ensure end of run cycle counts, any Inventory discrepancies (adjustment) are sent to Inventory Control
•Partner with Manager and Supervisor to support Y-Gaya meetings
•Report all first aid reports to H&S Coordinator

Education and Experience:
•Must have a High school diploma, Post Secondary education in Business discipline is preferred
•Minimum four (4) years experience in manufacturing environment
•Preference given to candidates with previous leadership experience.
•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) coupled with Visual Manufacturing or another type of MRP system
•Knowledge of Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) and LEAN manufacturing
•Strong working knowledge and compliance with employment legislation including; ESA, OHSA, Human Rights, etc.
•Knowledge of manufacturing principles and understanding of types of machinery and processes used at Wolf Steel
•Proven ability to coach, facilitate, solve work related issues and participate in the work of the team
