Title: Learning & Development Coordinator
Reports to: Worklife Effectiveness Team Leader

Job Purpose:
The purpose of the Learning and Development Coordinator is to lead and coordinate the process for organizational associate training and development initiatives that will enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of individuals and teams at Napoleon. The Learning and Development Coordinator contributes ideas to the development of training programs that promote leadership and technical development throughout the organization. The Learning and Development Coordinator will be a champion for and foster continuous learning environment at Napoleon, and will be an integral part in working with associates with respect to their learning and development goals so that both their career goals and the company’s business objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Develop and facilitate automation of the Company’s Succession Plan model and Career Development process and manage it, improve it and sustain it
• Assist with managing government grant programs ensuring that the Company is utilizing all available programs to the greatest extent
• Assist with organizing and facilitating the Company Orientation Programs. Review, update and enhance current Orientation(s) in order to ensure materials are effective, relevant and up-to-date with business related content
• Collect and present Learning and Development metrics on a monthly basis and manage cost tracking
• Access and analyze training needs through surveys, interviews with associates, or consultation with managers to determine training needs of associates that align with the Company’s vision and strategic goals
• Conduct on-the-job training or classes to teach and demonstrate principles, procedures and subject matter knowledge
• Build a register and maintain relationships with a range of reputable training providers in the areas of leadership, management, and other key organizational learning and development priorities
• Monitor current training and development initiatives, modify and improve existing programs, track and monitor usage and effectiveness
• Develop training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials as required
• Plan, evaluate and implement training and development courses and programs for associates that align with Human Resources and address overall skills gap.
• Develop and maintain associate development center resources.
• Manage the HRIS training database
• Assist Learning and Development team members as required.
• Complete other projects as assigned

Education and Experience:
• Must hold a bachelor's degree in Training & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related area
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Learning and Development role, conducting needs assessment and analysis through to implementation and assessment
• Proven experience in instructional design, training methodologies, instruction and facilitation is required. Preference will be given to individuals with Learning & Development experience in a manufacturing environment
• CHRP designation or in progress preferred. Achievement of Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) or Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) is preferred.
• Adult Education Certificate considered an asset
• Computer Software Requirement: Proficient in MS Office, and experience with HRIS and Learning Management systems

Specialized Skills:
• Well-developed communication, persuasion and interpretation skills
• Strong facilitation and training skills
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
• Previous demonstrated experience in developing high quality, professional correspondence and aids, i.e. letters, emails, presentations and agreements.
• Work effectively in a fast pace environment with changing priorities while maintaining timelines
• Must be tactful, diplomatic and possess the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of an organization
• Builds trust and rapport with others, strong ability to gain buy in and influence others, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal customers and others to meet mutual goals and objectives
