Title: Admin/Purchasing Supervisor (Contract – aprox. 14 Month)

Reports to: Sr. Retail Sales Manager

Based at: Napoleon Home Comfort

Job Purpose:  Supervises clerical staff and participates in their recruitment and selection.  Coordination of administrative and clerical work at NHC.  Performs a variety of administrative and purchasing duties. Provide administrative support to the Director of Retail Operations.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Assigns work, provides direction to clerical retail associates and ensures that assigned tasks are completed.  Ensures effective and appropriate reception coverage.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of retail associates.  Orients and trains associates.
  • Monitors and performance of associates.  Provides feedback on their performance and conducts performance evaluation.
  • Evaluates, develops and recommends office procedures and practices to senior management.  Ensures that approved office policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Retail Operations. 
  • Maintains and does all time approval for HRIS for all administrative and sales staff.
  • Coordinates sales schedule, ensure shifts are covered, ensure proper time off is taken IE. PEL Days, bonus day sand vacations.  All HRIS adjustments.
  • Deals with escalated customers and complaints – highest point customers can reach (aside from Senior Director).
  • Organization (with Team) of large sale events – ie warehouse sales and Kempenfest as well as attend special events when required. 
  • Assist with research and implementation of new POS system for NHC.
  • Oversee purchasing of retail store merchandise. 

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.  College or university preferred. 
  • Four (4) years recent related experience, including one (1) year previous leadership experience.  Previous experience in purchasing, customer service and inventory control is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Must have a good understanding of the retail sales environment.
  • Working knowledge and compliance with the employment legislation including ESA, OHSA, Human Rights, etc.
